| I Would Describe Myself As | My name is David. I "worship" art, nature, animals, humanity, love, lust, honor, martial skill, loyalty, mercy, strength, empathy, courage, and calm. I am a 'Folk Metal' fan these days, who was raised on classic rock and C&C Music Factory (!!), who then fell in love with metal and the Heathen Sounds of the North. Sweden/Norway/Finland rule! I also dig industrial, dark trance, ambient, folk, classical, indie rock, and some hip-hop/reggae. I studied Anthropology and German as an undergrad, and have an MA in German Literature and Film. I'm in social work right now, but will likely go back to teaching, this time for Anthro. I took a film production course over the summer for fun, and made a few short projects that didn't turn out half bad. I'd love to get more into Film and Video Art. I enjoy nature, hiking, camping, and biking, but don't get 'out there' as much as I'd like. I miss the campfire, and carrying everything you need for a few days on your back, but afternoon hikes and rides are fun on weekends. I'm open-minded, and enjoy experiencing new art, culture, hobbies, and philosophies. I'm the kind of guy that seeks peace for the world, but knows that violence is a part of us as beasts, and there are times for those skills. As a way to connect with that side of our nature, which many in our world deny, I have no shame loving a good martial arts, sword and shield / pulse-rifle, fantasy/sci-fi experience. Race is not an issue for me at all. Religion is only an issue if its 'hardlined' on me. I can respect different beliefs in others. I enjoy concerts and bar/club nights, but despite my adventurous nature, I'm very comfortable at home, and often like to stay in and cook dinner, listen to music, watch a movie, and hang out. |
